Maybe the NCAA is just glorifying a overrated freshman QBin Barkely. BC I didnt see USC do anything except for in the 4th quarter when Tressel made horrible coaching decisions. Barkley became an elite colllege QB and McKnight went nuts. I think the NCAA wants freshman QB in the national title game. The game was a joke.

The upcoming year for the Indians in my mind might be one of the better seasons we've had in recent franshise history. The Indians will be severly underrated coming into the year after last years really bad year full of injuries. The rotation for the Tribe is starting to take good form and is still young. The probable 5 starters for opening day are: Cliff Lee REIGNING AL Cy Young. Fausto Carmona who is coming off a really bad 2008 season yet I think he will turn the corner this year and turn back into what he looked like in 2007. Carl Pavano whos job will most likely mentoring the young pitchers will have a decent year if he can stay healthy year and keep his control. Anthony Reyes who I think is possibly going to win between 13- 17 games this year did great last year for the tribe haveing an ERA of 2.76 in 49 innings. And the 5th spot will most likely go to Aaron Laffey who has potential to be a good pitcher in the league. Lafey will also be worried about Jeremy Sowers who will try to take over that 5th spot throughout the season.
The bullpen is also looking like it should be in decent shape. The addition of Kerry Wood should help drastically as long as he can stay healthy. They have two reliable set up men in Betancourt and Rafael Perez. Also Kobayashi and Jensen Lewis can be used in many situations for the indians.
Now to the Lineup for the Indians. I believe it will stay almost the same as it was last year. The infield should be Garko at first. Cabrera at second. Peralta at short. DeRosa at third. Victor behind the plate. The outfield should be Francisco in Left. Grady in Center, and Choo in right.
Grady Sizemore-.268 AVG, 33HR, 90 RBI, 38 SB.
Mark DeRosa-.285 AVG, 21HR, 87 RBI.
Jhonny Peralta- .276 AVG, 23 HR, 89 RBI.
Victor Martinez-.278 AVG, 2HR, 35 RBI.- Injured for a lot of year.
Travis Hafner-.197 AVG, 5 HR, 24 RBI.- Injured for a lot of year.
Shin Soo- Choo-.309 AVG, 14 HR, 66 RBI.
Ryan Garko-.273 AVG, 14 HR, 90 RBI.
Ben Francisco-.266 AVG, 15 HR, 54 RBI.
Asdrubal Cabrera- .259 AVG, 6 HR, 47 RBI.
My prediction this year is for the Indians to finish first in the AL Central with a record of 96-66. I think they will get to the ALCS and play the Yankees in the ALCS. I think they will lose to the Yankees in a 6 game series.
